From grassroots beginnings to a third-generation Texas establishment.
Built upon a legacy of service, Time Insurance Agency is a family-owned and operated independent insurance agency that provides personal, commercial, life & health, specialty insurance and bonds in Texas.

Time Insurance Agency was founded in 1961 by John P. Schuler, a retired Navy Pilot. His son, John W. Schuler, took over the agency for his father in 1988 with the same commitment to exceptional customer service. Now, the third generation of Schulers has taken the reins and is redefining insurance with modern tools and placing a premium on transparency and convenience while maintaining our dedication to client service. We believe in customer satisfaction and are committed to delivering just that every time. As a locally owned insurance agency, it's Time's lack of bureaucracy that allows us to respond quickly to changes in our clients' needs.

1951
Founder John P. Schuler retires from the Navy and moves to Austin from Corpus Christi
After moving to Austin with his wife and two children, Big John immersed himself in his community looking for support after the Navy.
1960
1961
Big John takes a risk and opens Time Insurance Agency in downtown Austin across from the court house. His first clients included the University of Texas, the Navy, his neighbors and fellow veterans. With an emphasis on client care his referral business makes business boom.
John W. or Little John, graduates from the University of Texas and joins his father at Time Insurance Agency, Inc.
1985

John P. passes away unexpectadly and John W. takes over his father's business at 27 years old.
With 14 years of experience running Time, John W. sees an opportunity to expand to San Antonio and opens an office to serve South Texas.
2002
For many years John W. loved the corner lot on East Riverside. He would ride his dirt bike by it as a kid when it was a private home. It sits atop a hill and has a beautiful view overlooking the lake and downtown. In 2007 the opportunity arises for him to buy it and make it Time Insurance Agency's HQ.

With bond business booming and technology drastically changing the sales process, John W. came up with the idea to sell permit and license bonds online. He begins developing OnlineBond.com, the first e-commerce bond site in the USA.

After years of living in New York City, the third generation of Schulers move back to Austin to work at the family business with their father. Lauren (left), Michelle (middle), and Jennfier (right) join the company and bring their unique business skills to help modernize the 57-year old company.
After learning the business from the bottom up, Lauren, Michelle and Jennifer take the reins and lead the company to it's most successful year in company history. With modernized tools, transparent communication and the same commitment ot exceeding client expectations, the Schuler women are changing the face of insurance in Texas.
